Being Aware of a Safe Bee Pollen Dosage
The highly nutritious supplement contains proteins that are easily digested and are rich in vitamins and minerals. It is said to provide energy, restore and rejuvenate the body, and even help eliminate or at least relieve allergies. Before adding any bee pollen to the diet, you should be aware of a safe bee pollen dosage so as to avoid potential allergic reactions.
Be Aware of Any Allergic Reaction!
If giving bee pollen to a child, it is recommended to start with one or two granules at first to make sure that the child shows no allergy towards it. For children who are allergic to stings, honey or other various bee interactions you must be specially aware and careful of any sign of reaction. The dosage can be slowly increased to half a teaspoon every day if there are no adverse reactions. Pollen must not be given to the child if there are any adverse reactions.
Bee Pollen Dosage for a Child
Bee pollen should be given to the child about thirty minutes before they eat breakfast. They should not take it with a very hot beverage such as tea or coffee, because heat could degrade the healing properties within the pollen. The dosage should be increased by one granule every other day. The bee pollen can be mixed with some juice if the child does not enjoy the taste of the pollen or has trouble swallowing it.
An adult can take one to three tablespoons of bee pollen every day to ease asthma and allergy symptoms. A child aged 2 to 6 years should take one third of an adult’s dosage; a child aged from 6 to 12 years should take half an adult dosage; and a child over 12 can take a small adult dosage.
For those who suffer with any allergy, bee pollen can gradually be introduced into their diet for about 2 to 3 months before the start of summer. One to two tablespoons can be taken every day after the pollen has been slowly introduced into the diet.
Allergy symptoms could temporarily worsen at the beginning. With regards taking bee pollen for weight loss, there is no set rule when taking it. One tablespoon about thirty minutes before a meal will help in filling up a person and balancing the blood sugar levels. Other people also use the pollen as meal replacements. A few tablespoons with water are taken in place of a meal, usually at breakfast or at lunch.
Suggested Bee Pollen Dosage
To begin taking bee pollen, I suggest starting with a conservatively small amount to make sure no adverse reactions are experienced. If not, then you can slowly increase the dosage. To start, one or two raw granules can be placed under the tongue to dissolve or to chew.
Tablets can be cut into smaller pieces. Capsules can be twisted open and a bit of the contents can be mixed with water or juice. Dosages can be slowly increased so that the full amount is taken by the end of one week. Recommended dosages for an adult are one to two heaped teaspoons of granules mixed in cereal, yoghurt, smoothie or juice for easier swallowing. Dosage for tablet or capsule could be from 1000 mg to 2000 mg each day with juice or water.
